Double Murder Rocks Sundargarh In Odisha; Love Affair Suspected
Sundargarh: A double murder has taken place allegedly over a love affair at a village in Kutra area of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
As per sources, a young man and a woman were brutally murdered at Kashipada village under the jurisdiction of Kutra police station in the district on Sunday night.
The deceased have been identified as Pratap Larka (26) and Lipsha Kerketa (24) of Rumabahal and Kashipada under Tunmura Panchayat, respectively.
Lipsa was reportedly preparing for MBA examination. Pratap was her classmate.
The accused was identified as Raju Nag, a driver who was reportedly in a relationship with Lipsa.
According to the woman’s mother, Raju had been mentally harassing Lipsa for quite sometime which affected her studies.
Raju reached Lipsa’s house on Sunday night and wanted to take her along with him. A visibly agitated Raju then forcibly took Lipsa into a room and attacked her with a sharp weapon. Pratap was also attacked when he tried to save her.
While both were critically injured after being stabbed repeatedly, Raju fled the scene after committing the crime.
Both Lipsa and Pratap were rushed to the community health centre (CHD) at Kutra. However, both succumbed to injuries.
On being informed, a team from Kutra police station visited the site and started an investigation into the incident.
