Balasore: Wife of a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) scientist allegedly committed suicide at a rented house in Balasore town.
The deceased was identified as Rashmiprava Sahoo, wife of Uday Kumar Sahoo, who is working as a junior scientist with DRDO at Chandipur.
Rashmiprava was found hanging from the ceiling of the house near Fakir Mohan College Road under Town police limits on Tuesday. She was taken to a nearby hospital by her husband, but the doctors there declared her brought dead.
The exact reason as to why Rashmiprava took the extreme step is yet to be ascertained.
Police have registered a case of unnatural death.
According to sources, Uday is a resident of Pitambarpur area in Jagatsinghpur district. He had married Rashmiprava, a native of Sailo village under Tirtol police limits in the same district, on May 7 this year.
