Keonjhar: The driver of a SUV was killed after the vehicle overturned near Ramachandrapur police station in Keonjhar district on Monday.
The deceased has been identified as Sheikh Babu (32), a resident of Samantarapur village under Ghatagaon police limits in the district.
The incident took place when the Babu lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn. The driver was crushed to death under the wheels of the vehicle.
The helper of the vehicle, Shiva Munda (25), sustained grievous injuries in the mishap. He was rescued and admitted to Anandpur hospital for treatment.
On being informed, police and fire reached the spot and seized smuggled wood from the vehicle.
