Bhubaneswar: Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Wednesday launched simultaneous raids at seven locations linked to Debasis Panda, Principal Scientific Officer of the State Drugs Testing Laboratory, Sambalpur, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance teams led by four Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), ten Inspectors, four Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and supporting staff conducted the raids under the authority of search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Sambalpur.
An official statement said the searches are being carried out on the suspicion that Panda has amassed assets beyond his known sources of income. The searches are being conducted at the following locations in Bhubaneswar, Sambalpur, and Berhampur:
1. Flat No. 15, Block-5, Metro City, Behrasahi, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar
2. Flat No. 11-D, Block-2, Metro City, Nayapalli, Bhubaneswar
3. Space No. OU-634, Esplanade, Bhubaneswar
4. Flat No. 105, Block-D, Prestige Apartment, Balabhadrapur, Bhubaneswar
5. Rented residence of Panda, Duplex No. DX-29, Greater Sambalpur, Bareipally, Sambalpur
6. Paternal house at Nabhi Colony, Church Road, Berhampur, Ganjam
7. Office chamber of Panda at the State Drugs Testing Laboratory, Kainsir, Sambalpur
