Bhubaneswar: The Commissionerate Police had an unusual midnight encounter when a girl student of a private management college was engaged with them in a brawl in inebriated condition on Tuesday.
According to police sources, while the girl was driving her car in a high speed on the wrong side of the road, a patrolling van intercepted her near AG Square in the city. The girl, who was in an inebriated condition, came out of the car and started scolding them.
Though the police tried to pacify her, the girl, who was accompanied by her boyfriend, questioned them for stopping her and harassing her at midnight. Before the situation could escalate further and find himself in an unpleasant situation, her boyfriend fled.
Later, police contacted the girl’s family members and handed her over to them. They also seized her car.
However, after getting sober on Wednesday morning, the girl went to the police station along with her family members and sought apology for her misbheaviour. After taking the due fine and an undertaking that she would not repeat the mistake in future, they let her go.
