Bhubaneswar: Strict guidelines have been issued for the celebration of the upcoming Durga Puja festival in Bhubaneswar with authorities imposing restriction on the use of DJs, firecrackers and laser lights during the idol immersion processions.
Officials said the decision to impose such ban was taken at a preparatory meeting held at Police Seva Bhawan in the city ahead of the festival.
The Commissionerate Police made it clear that only traditional instruments will be used while accompanying the idols to the immersion sites.
The aim is to check noise pollution, ensure public safety and maintain cultural sanctity during the religious procession. Puja committees across the city have been advised to adhere to the directives strictly.
The preparatory meeting was attended among others by Police Commissioner S Dev Datta Singh, Additional Commissioner Narasingha Bhol, DCP Jagmohan Meena, Bhubaneswar Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, and members of various puja committees in the capital city.
