Bhubaneswar: The East Coast Railway on Friday notified a new timetable for 2025-26, which came into effect from January 1.
The updated schedule introduces introduces a host of passenger friendly measures including introduction of new trains, extension of existing services, increase in frequency, additional stoppages, speeding up of trains and rationalisation of schedules to improve operational efficiency and passenger convenience, the ECoR said in a release.
The timetable will remain in effect until the next edition is released.
Key Highlights of the New Timetable
New Train Services Introduced (3 pairs / 6 trains)
• 19021 / 19022 Udhna–Berhampur–Udhna (Weekly)
• 18311 / 18312 Sambalpur–Boudh–Sambalpur (Weekly)
• 18313 / 18314 Boudh–Bhubaneswar New–Boudh (Weekly)
Extensions of Existing Services (7 pairs / 14 trains)
• 12871 / 12872 Howrah–Titlagarh-Howrah to be extended up to Junagarh Road, will be notified soon
• 58305 / 58306 / 58307 / 58308 Balangir–Sonepur-Balangir Passenger services extended up to Purunakatak
• 12893 / 12894 Bhubaneswar-Sonepur-Bhubaneswar services extended up to Purunakatak
• 22819 / 22820 Visakhapatnam–Bhubaneswar-Visakhapatnam extended up to Bhubaneswar New
• 17015 / 17016 Bhubaneswar-Secunderabad-Bhubaneswar extended up to Bhubaneswar New
• 11019 / 11020 Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus-Bhubaneswar- Chatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus extended up to Bhubaneswar New
Increase in Frequency
• 19021 / 19022 Udhna–Berhampur-Udhna Express upgraded from Weekly to Tri-Weekly service.
Changes in Days of Service
• 20707 / 20708 Secunderabad–Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad services has been revised to run all weekdays except Monday
• 20835 / 20836 Rourkela–Puri-Rourkela services has been revised to run all weekdays except Tuesday
Train Re-numbering (effective February 1, 2026)
12892 becomes 18402 (Puri–Bhagat Ki Kothi)
12891 becomes 18401 (Bhagat Ki Kothi–Puri)
Speed Enhancements (effective January 1, 2026)
Several trains have been accelerated with reduced end-to-end running times, including

• 20804 Gandhidham–Visakhapatnam
• 18451 Hatia–Puri (Tapaswini Express)
• 18529 Durg–Visakhapatnam

• 12819 Bhubaneswar–Anand Vihar
• 68413 Talcher Road–Puri
• 12846 SMVT Bengaluru–Bhubaneswar
• 18573 Visakhapatnam–Bhagat Ki Kothi
Rakes Converted to LHB Coaches
• 12892/12891 Puri–Bhagat Ki Kothi–Puri
• 20837 / 20838 Bhubaneswar–Junagarh Road–Bhubaneswar
Additional Stoppages
A total of 56 trains have been provided with new stoppages at various stations including Loisingha, Norla Road, Bolagarh Town PH, Sanapadar PH, Taraboi PH, Sakhigopal, Naraj Marthapur, Mancheswar, Bhusandpur, Boinda, Therubali, Ambodala, Deogaon Road, Talcher Road and Nergundi.
Major trains benefitted include are having Train Nos. 18005/18006, 18423/18424, 68429–68430, 12895/12896, 15639/15640, 18449/18450, 20807/20808, 12837/12838, among others.
Revision & Rationalisation of Timings
• 25 trains including Train Nos. 58303, 18422, 18302, 18304, 18516, 18517, 22809, 22853, 22873, 18005, 18447 and 12805 have revised timings.
• The timings of 10 trains i.e. 12145, 18451, 12879, 22865, 13351, 20807, 18005, 18529, 20862, 18422 have been revised at the important selected stations.
Passengers have been advised to verify updated train schedules through official railway enquiry systems before planning their journey.
