New Delhi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has received Enforcement Directorate (ED) summons for the sixth time.
Soren, who has skipped all previous summons, has again been asked to appear before the central agency for questioning in connection with a money-laundering probe related to alleged fraudulent sale and purchase of land in Ranchi, Hindustan Times reported.
“The chief minister is expected to appear at the zonal office of the agency in Ranchi on Tuesday,” said an official aware of the matter.
The CM had moved the Supreme Court challenging ED’s summons. After the top court directed him to file his plea before the high court, Soren approached Jharkhand High Court.
But the high court dismissed Soren’s petition against the fifth summons.
Soren, executive president of the ruling Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, is yet to challenge the high court order.
