Dharmendra Pradhan Meets Union Minister Gadkari; Seeks Early Completion Of 4 Highway Projects In Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan expressed  concern over the delayed construction work on 4 key highway projects in Odisha during his meeting with Minister of Road Transport & Highways Nitin Gadkari on Tuesday.

The four highway are: Costal highway from Rameshwar to Digha, capital region ring road, Paradip-Barbil economic corridor & NH-55 from Cuttack to Sambalpur via Angul.

Seeking Gadkari’s personal intervention to speed up work on the highway projects, Pradhan said the projects are among the most important NH projects being undertaken in Odisha and have the potential to transform the socio-economic development of the state and eastern region of India in line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Purvodaya vision.

He said NH-55 is an important link connecting eastern and western Odisha, he stated in a tweet. “I highlighted the severe delays in completion of NH-55 from Cuttack to Sambalpur via Angul and sought support to ensure completion of the project before the onset of monsoon this year,” he wrote.

All these four highway projects are in various stages of completion. More support, co-operation and pro-active approach in removing bottlenecks will accelerate work on these important projects and ensure their completion at the earliest, Pradhan informed his counterpart.

Gadkari has assured all necessary support and cooperation to ensure expeditious completion of the projects, Pradhan metioned.
