Bhubaneswar: The Board of Secondary Education (BSE) has made elaborate security arrangements ahead of the matriculation examination, beginning February 22.
Mobile phones are prohibited in the examination hall to avoid the possibility of the question paper getting leaked. Except the Examination Superintendent, no officials or teachers are allowed to take mobile phones inside the hall. The Board of Secondary Education has issued a protocol regarding this.
The School and Mass Education Department directed the District Education Officers (DEO) to cooperate for smooth conduct of the examination.
A 24-hour control room will be opened in all the DEO offices. The DEOs will also visit the examination centres. If they see any irregularities, they can take action according to the Odisha Conduct of Examinations Act, 1988.
The BSE has started sending the question papers and answer sheets to the nodal centres. It has also been instructed to form a squad to keep a check on copying. Education Minister, Secretary and other department officials concerned will conduct surprise visits to the centres.
The matriculation examinations will conclude on March 8. The answer sheets will be evaluated from March 25 to April 5.
