Election Commission Says Allegations Regarding Functioning Of EVMS & VVPATS In Viral Video Are False
New Delhi: The Election Commission of India (ECI) has clarified that the claims made in an old video for 2017 from Bhind, MP being shared on social media, regarding EV/VVPT is completely false.
The video claims that 19 people were suspended during the demo of an EVM in MP because it printed BJP upon pressing the Congress or AAP button.
Here’s what ECI wrote on X:
An old video of 2017 frm Bhind, MP is being shared with false claim regarding EVM/VVPAT
Allegations made in video are completely false. Accuracy of functioning of EVM&VVPAT is beyond doubt.

The post refers to a 2017 press release issued by it which says that a special enquiry team found no anomaly or tampering in EVM and VVPAT used during a demonstration on Ater (Bhind). The enquiry was instituted by the Election Commission of India to enquire into all aspects of various allegations raised in the media and political parties. The team concluded that it is completely false to say that multiple slips of lotus were printed on pressing different buttons.
