Bhubaneswar: Eminent litterateur and playwright Akshay Kumar Mohanty breathed his last at his residence in Bhubaneswar on Friday. He was 83.
According to sources, he will be cremated at Swargadwara in Puri.
Mohanty headed the Ramoji Film City in Hyderabad and served as producer-director at ETV. He also worked for Delhi Doordarshan in a senior administrative position. He completed his PhD in Odia Visual Literature under the guidance of Dr Harihar Kanungo, a litterateur and culture specialist, particularly on the Jagannath cult.
