Bhubaneswar: Over 5 lakh women are deprived of the benefits under Subhadra Yojana, the flagship scheme of Odisha government, due to discrepancy in linkage of mobile number, bank account and Aadhaar card, Deputy CM Pravati Parida informed on Wednesday.

“The list of the rejected 2.67 lakh women has been sent to the respective blocks for verification and corrections. There are 5 lakh applications with error in bank account number/Aadhaar/mobile numbers,” she told reporters.

Parida requested everyone to link their mobile number with just one bank account since it was cause problems during verification. “Those not covered in the third phase on November 24, will receive the first instalment of Rs 5,000 following verification. Anganwandi workers will conduct physical verification in every village. Some woman have been deprived of the benefits under the scheme despite not owning any land with 5 acre written in their records since someone sold paddy in their names in mandis. An inquiry will also be conducted into such cases,” she added.

Earlier, the Deputy CM had said that around 20 lakh more beneficiaries are likely to receive the first instalment of Rs 5,000 by November end in the third phase of disbursement. The state government so far has disbursed Rs 5,000 each to about 60 lakh beneficiaries in two phases. While around 25 lakh women received the money in the first phase when Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched the scheme on September 17, the amount was credited to bank accounts of beneficiaries in the second phase on October 9.

The fourth and final phase of the first instalment would be released by the end of December, covering over 1 crore women in total, she added.
