Escorts on Monday introduced the country’s first hybrid tractor, which uses an electric motor along with a diesel engine.
The engine produces 70-75HP and the power can be boosted up to 90HP using the hybrid system.

It has 4 modes – Hybrid, Pure Electric, ICE direct and Charging mode. Both the powertrains work in tandem in the hybrid mode. It runs on batteries and electric motor in Pure Electric mode. In ICE direct mode, it runs only on the diesel engine.
The tractor also has brake regeneration that recovers some of the energy during braking.
