Bhubaneswar: The evaluation of the answer sheets of the annual Plus II examinations will begin in Odisha from April 8.
Deputy Controller of Examination, Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Bijay Kumar Sahu informed that it will be held in two phases. The first phase evaluation will be held from April 8 to 22 and the second phase from April 23. Online and offline evaluation would begin simultaneously.
“About seven lakh answer sheets of about 1.30 lakh students of Commerce and Science streams and the common papers of the Arts stream like MIL, Mathematics, Statistics, Geography and Information Technology (IT) will be evaluated online while there will be offline (manual) evaluation about 15 lakh answer sheets of the Arts stream,” Sahu said, adding that the Council has set up 58 offline and 36 online evaluation centres.
He further said that the Council will engage about 12,000 lecturers for evaluation of Arts and Vocational Education papers, 3500 lecturers for Science and 1000 lecturers for Commerce.
“We are planning to complete the evaluation by the end of April and announce the results of the Science stream in the third week of May and Arts, Commerce and Vocational Education in the first week of June,” Sahu added.
The Deputy Controller also informed that due to the Lok Sabha and Assembly elections, the Council has made some changes. “As decided, the evaluation in the centres, where the polling is scheduled on the day of the election would be held up for four days,” he said.
A total of 3,69,537 students of 1556 junior colleges had appeared for the annual Plus II examinations in 1093 centres this year. The examinations began on March 7 and concluded on March 30.
