Lucknow: India’s Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Saturday asserted that Pakistan was now well within the range of India’s indigenously produced BrahMos missile system, declaring that “every inch of Pakistan” could be targeted if provoked.

Speaking at an event in Lucknow to flag off the first batch of BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles manufactured at the new production facility in Sarojini Nagar, Singh said the recent Operation Sindoor had sent a strong message to India’s adversaries.

“What happened in Operation Sindoor was just a trailer,” Singh said, adding, “That trailer alone was enough to make Pakistan realise that if India could give birth to Pakistan, then you can imagine what it is capable of doing now.”

“Operation Sindoor has proven that victory is no longer a minor incident for us. Victory has become our habit… The country is confident that our adversaries will no longer be able to escape BrahMos. Every inch of Pakistani territory is now within the reach of our BrahMos,” Singh said.

The defence minister lauded the growing strength and self-reliance of India’s armed forces, remarking that “victory has become a habit for our military.” He emphasised that with BrahMos’ enhanced capabilities, “no enemy can escape India’s response.”

Highlighting the success of the indigenous defence ecosystem, Singh said the Lucknow unit had already signed contracts worth around ₹4,000 crore with two countries within a month. He projected that the unit’s turnover would reach ₹3,000 crore from the next financial year, with annual GST contributions potentially crossing ₹5,000 crore.

The event, attended by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, showcased India’s growing defence manufacturing strength under the Make in India initiative. Singh said the BrahMos facility marked a major milestone for the country’s missile production and export ambitions.

“BrahMos is not just a missile, but a symbol of India’s growing indigenous capabilities. This combination of speed, accuracy, and power makes BrahMos one of the world’s best missiles. BrahMos has become the backbone of India’s Army, Navy, and Air Force…,” he added.

“….four missiles delivered already…dhanteras gift”

“Today, we’re celebrating Dhanteras, and on this auspicious day, four BrahMos missiles were delivered. The government is also receiving a substantial GST from this. Yogi ji has ensured that this work benefits the Uttar Pradesh government as well… Today, the blessings of Goddess Lakshmi have showered not only on our security but also on our economy… With the taxes collected from the production of just one missile, the government could build numerous schools, expand hospitals, and implement schemes that directly improve the lives of the common man,” Singh added.
