Hyderabad: In a barbaric act, a Hyderabad man—a former soldier— allegedly killed his wife, chopped her body into pieces and boiled the parts in a pressure cooker to hide the crime. According to reports, Guru Murthy, 45, used to work as a security guard with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO). The accused allegedly confessed to the crime, reports claimed. The man was arrested.
The victim, Venkata Madhavi, 35, had been missing since January 16. Her family had lodged a missing complaint with Meerpet Police Station limits in Rangareddy district in Telangana, reported the DNA. When police questioned Murthy, he shared the details of the gruesome crime. The incident took place in Venkateswara Colony under Meerpet Police Station limits.
“The parents had lodged a missing complaint with us. The husband also came with them. We grew suspicious and questioned him. He confessed to this crime,” police Inspector Nagaraju said, as quoted by NDTV.
Guru Murthy reportedly chopped up his wife’s body in the bathroom. He went on to separate the bones, according to the accused. Not just that, he allegedly ground them using a pestle and boiled them again. He cooked the flesh and bones for three days and allegedly packed the remains and dumped those into a Lake. Probe is on and cops are verifying his claims. The couple has two children. It is yet to be known why he killed the wife.
