Ex-Ranji Player Bikash Pati 5th From Odisha To Qualify As BCCI Match Referee

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Ranji Trophy player Bikash Swarup Pati has qualified as a Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI) Match Referee.

The 37-year-old former opening batsman is the fifth Match Referee from Odisha — following in the footsteps of Late Prasant Mohapatra, Sanjay Raul, P Jayachandra and Shri Shiv Sundar Das, who gave it up to pursue coaching.

The Board had conducted a course and exam on September 5 and 6 in Bengaluru to identify suitable candidates for induction into the panel of BCCI Match Referees.

A total of 14 candidates passed the exam, of whom former opener Pati secured 8th rank scoring 80.5% marks.

Currently a member of the men’s senior selection committee, Pati played 35 First Class, 15 List A and 21 T20 matches for Odisha.
