Bhubaneswar: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national president Nitin Nabin is set to make his maiden visit to Odisha on May 18 since assuming the party’s top organisational role.
According to sources, the one-day trip will centre on a district-level training programme at the BJP’s state headquarters in Bhubaneswar, focusing on booth-level management, digital communication and public engagement. It is aimed at strengthening the party framework and consolidate its position following its landmark victory in last year’s Assembly elections.
The session is designed to enhance the organisational capacity and operational efficiency of workers at district, block, and state levels, with particular focus on strengthening coordination and training at the panchayat level ahead of the rural polls.
Nabin is expected to arrive in the morning, attend the training programme around 10–10:30 am, and depart in the evening. Senior party leaders and district representatives will participate in the sessions to prepare a roadmap for upcoming political activities, sources added.
The visit holds political importance as it represents Nabin’s first direct engagement with Odisha BJP workers following his elevation. It comes as the party continues efforts to consolidate its position in the state after notable electoral performances, including its role in recent assembly outcomes.
Preparations are in full swing, with a key review meeting on arrangements and reception plans to be chaired by BJP’s Odisha unit president Manmohan Samal.
