Fact Check: Did Sunny Leone Appear In UP Police Constable Exam?

Bhubaneswar: An admit card for the UP Police Constable Recruitment Exam conducted across the state on Saturday and Sunday had two photographs of Bollywood actress Sunny Leone and the name spelt as “Sunny Leon”.

The gender of the applicant was marked as ‘male’ and the home district was mentioned as Kannauj district. Under the city column, the applicant mentioned Mumbai, whereas the state column read Uttar Pradesh, according to Times of India.

The applicant who had registered on the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board’s (UPPRB) website with Leone’s photo was supposed to appear for the exam from 10 am to 12.05 pm at Kannauj’s Smt Soneshree Memorial Girls College on Sunday.

When officers and college administration at the Girls College saw Sunny Leone’s name on the list they were shocked but the applicant did not appear for the exam. “The applicant who used Leone’s photo did not turn up at the assigned centre and was marked absent,” Sub-Divisional Magistrate Ashok Kumar told the media.

The photo of the admit card went viral on social media.

The recruitment board immediately corrected the admit card by uploading blank photo sections, India Today reported.
