Fake Currency Notes Worth Rs 1.90 Lakh Recovered In Odisha’s Dhenkanal, One Held

Dhenkanal: Acting on a tip-off, a team of the Special Task Force (STF) along with members of the Dhenkanal district police unearthed a racket dealing in fake Indian currency notes (FICN) on Friday evening near Rathapada village under Dhenkanal Sadar police station in Dhenkanal district and arrested one person named Tushar Kumar Biswal, 31, son of Purusottam Biswal of Kacherisahi village under the jurisdiction of Deogarh police station in Deogarh district.

During a search, the team recovered and seized fake Indian currency notes worth Rs 1,90,600, one mobile phone and other incriminating articles from the possession of the accused.

A case (Case No. 658 dated 17.12.2022 U/S 489-A/489-B/489-C/489-D/120(B) IPC) has been registered in this connection at Dhenkanal Sadar Police Station. Further investigation is on to nab other members of the racket.
