Cuttack: As part of its investigation into the supply of fake medicines, a Special Task Force (STF) team of Odisha Crime Branch left for Mumbai on Friday to interrogate the chief of Max Relief Health Care, Sudeep Mukherjee.
Mukherjee was earlier arrested by Mumbai Police on charges of drugs license fraud.
According to sources, fake medicines seized from Cuttack were procured from Max Relief Healthcare.
On June 11, Drug Control officials had raided a medicine wholesale godown at Kanika Chhak in Cuttack’s Tulasipur area and seized counterfeit medicines worth around Rs 70 lakh. The confiscated goods included 17,000 fake Favipiravir tablets.
On June 12, the officials had raided a medicine wholesale counter at Malha Sahi in Mangalabag area of the city and seized several counterfeit medicines. Some of these fake medicines were manufactured by Max Relief Healthcare Ltd at Solan in Himachal Pradesh and some were made by Medilloyd Medicament Pvt Ltd.

Later, the Drug Control officials conducted raid at many medicine stores in Rourkela, Balangir, Boudh, Rayagada and Balasore and seized huge amount of fake medicines.
