Cuttack: A video journalist of the city, who tested positive for COVID-19, has appealed to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik to ensure protection and sustenance of his family.
The video journalist, who works as cameraman in a local news channel, was admitted to DRIEMS COVID Care Centre (CCC) on Friday after he tested positive for the disease.
In a video release, he alleged that local residents had ostracised his family after he was confirmed to have been affected by the COVID-19. His friends and relatives were not allowed to visit the family.
He said a child of his family has been deprived of food due to the ostracisation. Even the Anganwadi and ASHA workers were not coming to help his family members who were put under home quarantine, he added.
He appealed to the chief minister, district collector and CMC Commissioner to come to the rescue of his family.
