Mumbai: Bollywood choreographer Farah Khan, during a chat with her fans on Redditt, was asked if the likes of Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and Tabu offer namaaz every day.
“Farah: Actually, I want to know. How religious are our other muslim stars like Shahrukh, Aamir, Salman and Tabu? Can u tell me? Because guys in the US feel that they are not, is it true?” a fan questioned.
Farah replied, “Dear Shabana, don’t worry about anyone getting bugged by you. As for the other stars, I know that Shah Rukh is a very good human being. He does a lot of charity, he helps a lot of people in the film industry and outside it.”
“I know that Tabu does her namaaz regularly as she is a very close friend of mine, and even if she didn’t do her namaaz, she is still a good person. I don’t know about Salman, but he is always ready to help anybody who needs it, and that’s what I think is important in life and not what religion you are,” Farah added.
The fan then asked Farah if she offers namaaz and observes roza during Ramadan.
“Farah: Do you believe in God? Or do you offer Namaz or fast during Ramzan? I am sure you won’t be doing all these things like Lucky Ali, who is very religious and told us in the chat room that he prays five times a day, isn’t it, folks?” was the query.
Farah replied, “Shabana: I don’t do Namaaz, but I keep my roza’s and that’s it. And I do give a percentage of my earnings to charity. That’s ‘zakaat’. And I try to be nice to people and honest and hardworking, and that’s better than praying five times a day and not doing all this!”
