Farmer Electrocuted By Snapped Electricity Wire In Odisha’s Ganjam

Berhampur: A farmer in Ganjam district was electrocuted when he came in contact with a snapped live electricity wire lying on a paddy field on Wednesday.

According to sources, while Raju Sahu of Dasipur village under Digapahandi block was working in the field, he came in contact with the 11 KV live wire which had snapped during gale and rain on Tuesday night.

Some farmers working in other fields rushed Raju to the community health centre (CHC) at Digapahandi but it was too late. Most parts of Raju’s body were burnt, they said.

SI Madhav Chandra Takari of Digapahandi police station said they have registered a case of unnatural death and sent the body to MKCG Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem. Further investigation is on.
