New Delhi: Bharatiya Kisan Union leader Jagjit Singh Dalewala appealed to the people of India to beat ‘thali’ during Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s weekly Sunday radio programme ‘Mann ki Baat’ on December 27.
“We would appeal all to beat ‘thali’ at their homes during the time he speaks in the programme,” Dalewala said on Sunday.
Yogendra Yadav of Swaraj India informed that they will start a 24-hour hunger strike on Monday at all the protest sites.
Thousands of farmers have been protesting at various points of the Delhi border since November 26, demanding the withdrawal of the three farm laws which were enacted in September.
The Centre has had several rounds of talks with leaders of farmer unions, without making any headway. While the government is ready to amend the laws, the farmers have refused to budge unless the laws are repealed.
The Supreme Court has suggested that a panel, which includes representatives of the government and farmers’ associations across the country, be formed to resolve the issue.
