Mumbai: A female police officer and her daughter were found dead in their home in Maharashtra’s Buldhana district, while the body of the woman’s husband was found hanging from a tree, police said on Monday.
The husband, identified as Kishor Kute, allegedly killed his wife Varsha and 3-year-old daughter with a sharp object at their residence near Panchamukhi Mahadev temple in Chikhli city.
Initial investigation revealed that Kute, after killing his wife and daughter, travelled around 15 kilometres from Chikhli and ended his life by hanging from a tree, police informed.
The couple’s second daughter, aged 8 years, escaped the horror as she was in school when the incident took place.
A full-fledged investigation is underway, but police have no clue yet on possible motives behind the murders followed by suicide.
Local people who have been questioned by police have expressed their surprise at the horrific incidents as they thought the couple had a good relationship.
