Bhubaneswar: The Bhubaneswar chapter of FICCIFLO (the women’s wing of FICCI) discussed programs and initiative undertaken by Mission Shakti & FLO to promote rural women entrepreneurship as well as the need to establish proper linkages between rural and urban women.
These issues were discussed at a webinar, ‘Live talk with the Shakti behind Rural Women’, organised under FICCIFLO Bhubaneswar chapter’s Village Industry Transformation (VIT) initiative on July 23.
Commissioner cum Secretary of Mission Shakti Sujata R Karthikayen was the keynote speaker at the webinar. She spoke about the formation and objectives of Mission Shakti and its role to socially and economically empower rural women.
Past Chair of FICCIFLO Bhubaneswar chapter Dharitri Patnaik explained and discussed various activities undertaken to address the challenges under the village adoption program during her chairmanship. The activities were launched in association with Humara Bachpan Trust, an NGO advocating the safety and development of women and child.
FICCIFLO Bhubaneswar chapter Chairperson CS Sunita Mohanty said, “FICCI Ladies Organisation’s highest priority is to help women achieve financial independence. Hence webinars like these are very important and inspiring.”
The webinar was attended by more than 100 viewers. It was moderated by Sonal N More, Secretary FICCI FLO Bhubaneswar & FLO VIT Initiative Head and Sonali Mohanty, Flo VIT Initiative Head, Bhubaneswar.
