Bhubaneswar: The Indian senior men’s football team will prepare for next month’s crucial World Cup qualifiers with a four-week training camp at Bhubaneswar.
Igor Stimac’s men will assemble in the Odisha capital within a fortnight, and kick off preparations on May 10.
On June 2, the final squad will move to Kolkata where they face Kuwait. India had won the Kuwait leg 1-0 in November.
India will complete their second round, Group A engagements with a tough away encounter against Qatar on June 11.
India had suffered a 0-3 thrashing at the hands of Qatar in the home-leg fixture at Kalinga Stadium here.
While Qatar have won all four games so far to be on top with 12 points, India are currently in second place – tied on 4 points with Afghanistan thanks to a better goal difference.
India will have to win both games to have a chance of advancing in the World Cup qualifiers.
