New Delhi: The ‘Veere Di Wedding’ fame producer Nikhil Dwivedi is looking forward to rope in actress Rhea Chakraborty, who is currently embroiled in Sushant Singh Rajput case, for his film.
The filmmaker took to his Twitter handle on Tuesday to extend his support to Rhea and express his desire of working with her.
“Rhea, I didn’t know you. I don’t know what kind of person you are. Maybe you are as bad as you are being made out to be. Maybe you are not. What I do know is that how its all played out for you is unfair, unlawful and not how civilised countries behave. When all this is over we would like to work with you,” he tweeted.
Soon, he was trolled by netizens for supporting Rhea, who is currently in the judicial custody for her alleged involvement in the drug nexus.
In response to the trolls, Nikhil wrote on his Twitter handle, “To those who think I am supporting a drug user or drug peddler & trolling me.. I wud like to say I DON’T CARE! I’m NOT supporting Rhea but standing up to our tendency to pronounce judgments before law has. I was as disturbed whn men were ousted of their jobs on #MeToo allegations.”
Besides Nikhil, several Bollywood celebrities including Taapsee Pannu, Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Farhan Akhtar, Shibani Dandekar, Dia Mirza, Vidya Balan, Zoya Akhtar, among others, came out in support of Rhea after her arrest in the drug cartel case.
