New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Saturday asked the state party leaders to finalise the list of candidates for the forthcoming Assembly and Lok Sabha polls by the end of February.
Presiding over a meeting of the party’s general secretaries, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) presidents and leaders of the Congress legislature party at the Congress War Room at Rakab Ganj Road in New Delhi, he asked the party leaders to give priority on booth management.
From Odisha, PCC president Niranjan Patnaik and leader of the Opposition Narasingha Mishra attended the meeting.
Talking to mediapersons after the meeting, Patnaik said the Congress president underscored the need for better booth management. He also spoke about proper publicity of the candidates contesting the elections in their area. He also wanted to know from the party leaders about the state-wise assessment for Assembly and Lok Sabha polls.
“The Congress president directed the state PCC chief to finalise the list of candidates for the ensuing elections tentatively by February-end,” he added.
