Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman Reaches Bhubaneswar On 2-Day Odisha Visit; Attends ‘Shradhanjali Sabha’ At BJP Office
Bhubaneswar: Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister Nirmala Sitharaman arrived in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday night on a two-day visit to Odisha.
Soon after her arrival at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA), the Finance Minister was accorded a warm welcome by senior BJP leaders and officials.
Sitharaman directly proceeded to the state BJP headquarters in the state capital where she attended a ‘Shradhanjali Sabha’ in memory of the first Mayor of Cuttack Nibedita Pradhan, who passed away recently.
Also present at the event was Union Education and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Both the Union Ministers paid rich tributes to the late leader and recalled her contributions towards the different sectors.
After the event at the BJP state headquarters, Sitharaman is slated to leave for Puri. She will visit Shree Jagannath Temple on Thursday morning for darshan of the sibling deities.
The Finance Minister and Education Minister are scheduled to attend a number of programmes at Puri as well as Bhubaneswar on Thursday.
They are set to embark on a day that resonates with the theme of “Meri Maati Mera Desh,” exemplifying their dedication to our nation’s heritage and progress. The day’s proceedings include:
The two Ministers will witness sand art on “Meri Maati Mera Desh” by noted artist Sudarshan Patnaik. The enthralling beauty of the “Meri Maati Mera Desh” theme will be portrayed through mesmerising sand art created by the renowned artist.
The Union Ministers will then join an environmental initiative – a plantation drive and the solemn Panch Pran Pledge – hosted within the serene confines of the Central Sanskrit University’s residential complex, Shri Sadashiva Campus, Near Penthakata in Puri.
Thereafter, they will honour the legacy of freedom by visiting the birthplace of the illustrious Saheed Jayee Rajguru and embarking on the symbolic Amrit Kalash Yatra at Biraharekrushnapur, Puri.
The Ministers will then proceed to Bhubanewswar and attend a a book launch event. Books in Kuwi and Desia languages will be released, facilitating the dissemination of knowledge across linguistic boundaries.
The day will culminate in the evening with the dignitaries inaugurating the 20th National CA Conference in Bhubaneswar, fostering intellectual exchange and professional development.
