Khurda: A major fire broke out at Sarapari village in Khurda district on Wednesday night. Though no injury or casualty was reported in the mishap, seven houses were gutted. Property worth lakhs was reduced to ashes.
According to sources, the mishap took place when the people were asleep. On being informed, fire tenders rushed to the spot and managed to douse the flames after an hour-long effort.
Though the actual reason behind the mishap is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that short-circuit may be the reason.
