Puri: A man suffered critical burns after a major fire broke out in a house at Pallisamal Jadipur village in Puri district late on Tuesday.
The victim has been identified as Ramesh Bhoi. The mishap took place when Bhoi was asleep in his home.

Sources said, a group of villagers rescued Bhoi from the house by breaking the door and admitted him to the district headquarters hospital.
Two rooms were completely gutted and property worth several lakhs of rupees destroyed in the fire.
An electric short circuit is suspected to have caused the fire.
