Bhubaneswar: Two of the 26 critical patients, who had to be shifted to other private hospitals in the city following the fire incident at Apollo Hospitals on February 2, died on Sunday night.
Saheed Nagar Police identified the deceased as Shankarsan Dora (51), Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Boudh, and Diptimayee Banerjee (78) of Kalinganagar in Jajpur district.
According to police, Dora was admitted to Apollo Hospitals by his family members after he had a heart stroke on January 28. Since he went into a coma, he was admitted to the ICU. Following the fire in the Hospitals building on February 2, he was shifted to AMRI Hospital where he died on Sunday night.
Similarly, Banerjee was recently admitted to the ICU of the Apollo after her condition became critical. She was shifted to Kalinga Hospital on February 2 where she died on Sunday night.
