Fire Safety Measures In Odisha’s COVID Hospitals To Be Reviewed
Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Fire Services has decided to make a review of fore safety measures in COVID hospitals and COVID care centres in the state in the wake of the mishap at Ahmedabad.
Director General, Odisha Fire Services, Satyajit Mohanty on Thursday directed for review of fire safety measures at the COVID healthcare facilities by senior officers.
According to media reports, Assistant Fire Officers and Deputy Fire Officers have been directed to visit the buildings housing the facilities under their jurisdictions and review the fire safety measures and detect deficiencies, if any.
The officers will also advise the authorities concerend to take appropriate fire safety measures.
It may be noted that as many as eight patients died after a fire broke out at COVID-19 designated Shrey Hospital in Navrangpura area of Ahmedabad early Thursday morning. They were being treated at the ICU ward.
