First Surya Nagar Corona Patient Recovers From Infection, But Still In Hospital

Bhubaneswar: The Health and Family Welfare on Sunday informed about another patient from Bhubaneswar having recovered from the infection and testing negative for COVID-19.

“He is under treatment at AIIMS-Bhubaneswar for other chronic health conditions and will be discharged after his recovery from the other health issues,” it added.

With this, the number of persons who have recovered from the infection in Odisha has gone up to 35. Of the total 103 positive cases, 67 are active in the state.

AIIMS-Bhubaneswar has seen one corona death (April 6) and a 19-year-old, who tested positive for the virus on March 19, has been discharged after being fully cured (April 2).

The lone COVID patient still undergoing treatment at the hospital is a 60-year-old man from Surya Nagar. He was admitted to the hospital on March 31 and tested positive for the virus on April 1, sources said.

He was the first corona positive case from the locality and the Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation had revealed his identity to facilitate contact tracing since he had no travel history. Seven of his contacts had later tested positive for the virus.
