Berhampur: A five-year-old boy died after he accidentally drank diesel at Ramakrushnapur village of Seragada block of Ganjam district on Thursday night.
The boy was rushed to MKCG Medical College and Hospital here. He was later referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as his condition worsened. He, however, succumbed on his way to Cuttack.
According to sources, the child belonging to Pathara village in Kabisuryanagar of the district was on a visit to his grandparents’ house at Ramakrushnapur village.
He accidentally drank diesel kept in a can near a concrete mixture machine at a construction site where he had gone with his maternal grandfather, the sources added.
