Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department’s regional centre has forecast heavy rainfall in the state during the next 48 hours and issued fresh warning for seven districts of Bhadrak, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Jharsuguda, Dhenkanal, Bargarh, and Angul.
According to the Met office, incessant rain in the upstream may trigger flash floods in Budhabalanga, Brahmani, Subarnarekha and Baitarini rivers. Coastal and interior Odisha may also witness moderate rainfall.
Keeping this in view, the state government has cancelled holidays of officials concerned and asked them to remain alert to tackle the situation, sources said.
