Malkangiri: Incessant rain since Sunday night has triggered flood-like situation in Pateru and Kankerkonda of Malkangiri district.
According to reports, bridges at Pateru, Kankerkonda and Kanyashram have submerged following rise in the water level of Pateru river. With water flowing over 4 feet high on Kanderkonda road, vehicular communication has been disrupted at Motu Road, reports added.
Meanwhile, the regional centre of India Meteorological Department has issued thunderstorm and lightning warning for 18 districts in the state. The alert has been sounded for Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Ganjam, Rayagada, Angul, Nayagarh, Khurda, Cuttack, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts till 4 in the evening.
