Puri: In the wake of the seizure of the personal helicopter of former Kendrapara MP Baijayant Panda for ‘wrongfully flying’ over Chilika Lake, a complaint was lodged by Sachetana Nagarika Mancha at Marine Police Station at Arakhakuda in Puri against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik and four BJD leaders on the same charges, on Friday.
The four BJD leaders against whom the complaint has been lodged are Puri MLA and Revenue and Disaster Management minister Maheswar Mohanty, Pipili MLA and Agriculture minister Pradip Maharathi, Brahmagiri MLA and former minister Sanjay Dasburma and Puri MP Pinaki Mishra.
Talking to mediapersons after lodging a complaint, convener of Manch Priyadarshan Patnaik said they had lodged a complaint with the Puri SP at his office, two days ago. On his advice, a copy of the complaint was lodged at the Marine Police Station at Arakhakuda on Friday, he added.
“In the complaint, it has been mentioned that since Chilika is our mother, the law of the lake should be applicable to everyone. Hence, whoever has flown his helicopter over the lake should be punished accordingly. If the former MP Baijayant Panda has been found guilty of flying over the lake, the Chief Minister, the Puri MP and the three MLAs should be made guilty for violating the law of the lake,” Patnaik said.
