Fog Engulfs Cuttack, Bhubaneswar & Angul; Night Temp To Dip In Odisha After 24 Hours

Cuttack: A thick blanket of fog engulfed the Millenium City on Thursday morning reducing visibility to 150 metres. Shallow to moderate fog was also seen in Bhubaneswar (300 metres) and Angul (500 metres), the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.

The MeT had forecast shallow to moderate fog at one or two places in coastal Odisha, Kandhamal, Dhenkanal, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Koraput and Malkangiri till 8.30 am on Wednesday. Fog is also likely to engulf some places in Koraput, Rayagada, Ganjam, Gajapati, Puri, Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Balangir, Sonepur, Boudh, Angul, Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts in the subsequent 24 hours. Shallow to moderate Fog is also likely at one or two places in  Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Balangir, Boudh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Cuttack, Gajapati, Ganjam, Rayagada and Koraput districts between 8.30 am on Thursday and 8.30 am on Friday.

Meanwhile, the lowest minimum temperature of 11.7 degree Celsius was recorded at Kirei in Sundargarh district last night followed by G Udayagiri in Kandhamal at 14 degree Celsius and Keonjhar at 14.4 degree Celsius. While there will be no large change in the night temperature for another 24 hours, mercury is likely to dip by 3-4 degree Celsius in many parts of the state in the subsequent days, the IMD added.
