New Delhi: The Phase-1 operations plan of the Noida International Airport at Jewar in Uttar Pradesh highlights advanced infrastructure, quick passenger processing and technology-driven safety systems as the facility prepares for launch. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the airport, marking a major addition to aviation capacity in the Delhi-NCR region.
According to reports, the airport has been designed with features aimed at improving efficiency and reliability of flight operations. These include a runway capable of handling landings during dense fog conditions and a streamlined passenger check in process that could take less time, about a few minutes.
The airport is equipped with advanced Instrument Landing Systems (ILS) that help aircraft land safely even in low-visibility winter conditions common in north India.
Passenger capacity and flight plans
In its first phase, the airport is expected to handle around 12 million passengers annually, with plans for significant expansion in later phases.
Initial operations are likely to include domestic flights to major cities such as Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata and Lucknow. IndiGo, Akasa Air and Air India Express are expected to operate services.

The airport is expected to ease congestion at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport and boost economic growth across the NCR region by improving connectivity, logistics and job opportunities.
With regulatory clearances in place, commercial flight operations are expected to begin within weeks of the inauguration.
