Puri: The Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA) has lodged a complaint with Puri Cyber Police against a leading online food delivery platform over online sale of ‘Annaprasad’.
Though the promotion, launched for the holy month of Kartika, mentions availability of ‘Annaprasad’ from Maa Tarini, Baba Akhandalamani and Prasadam Temple in Bhubaneswar at Rs 49, Hemant Kumar Padhi, Puri Srimandir Security Administrator, said that the platform has used visuals of Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri to mislead devotees into believing that they could order ‘Mahaprasad’ of Mahaprabhu.
He described the promotional video as both deceptive and fraudulent.
The advertisement, which went viral on social media, sparked outrage among devotees and the public. The temple administration too promptly acted to have it removed.
The food delivery company is yet to issue a statement on the issue.
