Former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat Injured After His Car Hits Divider
New Delhi: Former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat reportedly suffered an injury on his chest after his car hit a divider in Udham Singh Nagar’s Kashipur late on Tuesday. The accident took place while he was on his way to Kashipur from Haldwani.
According to officials, Rawat’s Personal Security Officer (PSO) and other associates, who were travelling in the four-wheeler, also suffered injuries. They received injuries on their hands and head, News18 reported.
The former CM was rushed to a hospital, where the doctors conducted CT scan and other medical tests, following which they stated that Rawat was out of danger.
According to a report in Amar Ujala, Rawat was in Kashipur for a press conference. The report stated that Rawat had suffered serious wounds, while his driver and gunner narrowly escaped death.
The former chief minister complained of chest pain. The accident is said to have happened around 12:15 a.m., the report added.
Amar Ujala further mentioned that Rawat’s car was badly damaged, and the local police hurriedly admitted him to the Community Health Center, where doctors gave first-aid and referred him to the higher center.
Rawat’s CO Bhupendra Singh Bhandari reportedly took him to Kashipur’s KVR Hospital in his car. The report stated that the former CM was discharged after treatment.
