Four Held For Impersonating During Exams In Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar: Police arrested four persons from a school in Khandagiri area and forwarded them to the court on Monday on charges of running a racket of imposters for appearing in the exams.
The accused have been identified as Adarsh Chaudhry, Amit Kumar Singh, Amiya Bhuyan and Ranjit Kumar Beura.
According to sources, on Sunday, Saraswati Sishu Mandir, Dharmabihar Pradhan Acharya Sashibhushan Dash lodged a complaint at Khandagiri police station that Adrasha appearing the OUAT entrance examination was impersonating for the original candidate, Yudhistir Mallick at the centre.
Based on the complaint, Khandagiri police started investigation into the matter and found that Yudhistir Mallick of Puri district had applied for the common exam of OUAT. While checking the admit card and photo identity, the invigilator detected the fake candidate Adarsh Chaudhury, who was taking the exam for Mallick.
Mallick had taken taken the help of Ranjit, who was working in NMIET as a marketing personnel. Ranjit hatched the plan with Amit Kumar Singh another staff member of NMIET. Both connived with Amiya Bhushan and arranged for Adrasha Chaudhry to appear and write the exam paper at the Saraswati Sisu Vidya Mandir, Dharmabihar centre impersonating as Yudhistir Mallick. They decided to charge him Rs 5 lakh to be distributed amongst themselves later.
The police seized the admit card and Aadhar Card of Yudhistir Mallick and five mobile phones from their possession.
Further investigation into the matter is on.
