Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government on Sunday informed that the second death reported from Ganjam district the previous day was a suspected COVID-19 patient and his swab samples subsequently tested negative for the virus.
“Hence, the total COVID deaths in Odisha stands at 4,” the Health and Family Welfare Department tweeted.
Earlier in the day, the department website had revealed about two new corona deaths in Ganjam, taking the toll to five.
The details of the other patient, who died in the district on Saturday, are awaited.
Ganjam had reported the first COVID death on May 10.
The other two who succumbed to the virus were two men aged 77 and 72 from Bhubaneswar.
