Bhubaneswar: A low-pressure area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood around October 4, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Wednesday.
“An upper air circulation lies over southeast Bangladesh & neighbourhood and under its influence, a low-pressure area is likely to form over North Bay of Bengal & neighbourhood around October 4.”
Light to moderate rain/thundershower may occur at severals places in Odisha this week with yellow warning issued for two days.
On October 2, yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning has been sounded for isolated places in Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nabarangpur, Koraput, Malkangiri, Rayagada, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapada, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati districts. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in North Coastal Odisha, South Odisha and at one or two places in North Interior Odisha.
Bhubaneswar may experience partly cloudy sky with one or two spells of rain/thundershowers.
Thunderstorm with lightning warning continues for Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal on October 3. Light to moderate rain/thundershower may also occur at a few places in Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal and at one or two places in remaining parts of the state.
While there is no weather warning thereafter, light to moderate rain/thundershower may continue at a few places in North Coastal Odisha, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Deogarh and at one or two places in rest districts of the state during the subsequent 24 hours.
On October 5, light to moderate rain/thundershower is likely at one or two places in North Coastal Odisha ,Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Nayagarh, Khurda, Puri, Koraput, Malkangiri, Nabarangpur and Rayagada districts.
The intensity of rain may decrease thereafter with light to moderate rain/thundershower at one or two places across the state, the weather agency added.
