The fresh protests were triggered after by a full-court meeting was called by the Chief Justice, reportedly without consulting the newly-formed interim government, led by noble laureate Mohammad Yunus. The students alleged that the judges were ‘part of a conspiracy.’
The neighboring country witnessed a political turmoil, triggered by the massive protests over job quota rules. At least 450 people were killed in more than due to the violent clashes and protests.
