Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Vigilance sleuths on Sunday began simultaneous searches at six locations linked to Shishir Kumar Dash, Assistant Executive Engineer posted at Mathili Block and attached to the District Rural Development Agency in Malkangiri, on allegations of possessing disproportionate assets.
According to a Vigilance release, the searches, authorised by warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Brahmapur, are being conducted by a team led by one Additional Superintendent of Police, five Deputy Superintendents of Police, five Inspectors and supporting staff.
The premises under scrutiny include a four-storey building at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar, a double-storey building at Neelachal Nagar in Brahmapur, a house at Basudevpur (Gobara) in Ganjam district, the official’s paternal house at Gajapati Nagar in Brahmapur, a rented residential house in Malkangiri and his office chamber at the DRDA office in Malkangiri.
Assets recovered so far:
1) One four-storey building over 6,760 Ssqft area at Baramunda in Bhubaneswar.
2) One double-storey building over 2,500 sqft area at Neelanchal Nagar in Brahmapur.
3) Six high value plots – three at Brahmapur, one each at Puri, Khordha and Gobara in Ganjam.
4) One four-wheeler (Hyundai i10 car) and three two-wheelers (Yamaha FZS, Hero Splendor and 1 scooter Yamaha Cygnus).
While bank and postal deposits and other investments are being ascertained, Vigilance Technical Wing is carrying out measurement and valuation/assessment of the buildings and plots, the release added.
